Nigel Murfitt

Singer / Actor / Santa / Compere

I've been singing most of my life, either in character or songs across a wide range of styles and periods.

I work primarily as The King at The Mediaeval Banquet in London.

The rest of the time I appear in films as a character actor or extra (sometimes featured).

I also appear on various TV shows doing just about anything from reading poetry (Mr & Mrs) to being dressed as a sumo wrestler (Good Morning). I'm also an excellent Father Christmas.

Most recently I appeared on BBC's All Together Now as one of the judging panel; The 100.

All Together Now

BBC and Remarkeable TV's new Saturday night program hits screens in January 2018.

I was chosen as one of 'The 100', the panel of judges. I also got a feature spot in the opening credits for which the BBC came to the Mediaeval Banquet to film me in my kingly regalia.

I've been Father Christmas for eight years now. I work at shopping centres, private parties, corporate events and nightclubs.

I'm great with kids and always research what toys are popular. I speak to the children as individuals and can make even nervous kids talk.

I have a real beard (and a fake one if you want it really long) and always take care to look authentic with costume, wig, make up and glasses.

I can be booked for the day or half day.

Review: The best Santa ever!

Wife and me took our two children to see Santa the the Painshill Grotto on Saturday 1st December. I have to say I’ve have never seen such attention to detail.

A real white beard, great costume, and not-the usual booming Santa more of a calming voiced Santa to soothe the most nervous of children.

His knowledge of the toys the children asked him to bring on Christmas Eve was unsurpassed. He certainly had done his homework on what children were asking for.

Well done Painshill! If there’s a Santa award at the end of the year this Santa deserves to win.
